The German Nuremberg Technology Incubation Center hosted a three-day "Digital Tech Summit 2019" locally from October 11th to 13th. The event was divided into digital technology forums and hackathons, which attracted more than 800 industry professionals and students from around the world. University A was the only Asian school to participate in the hackathon, and it performed well and won the runner-up award.

The hackathon (Hackathon) competition topic was jointly proposed by four well-known German international manufacturers, Nürnberg Versicherung, Siemens Healthineers, adidas, and Nürnberg Messe. It mainly focuses on the three areas of "mobile, sports, and health", discussing the problems faced by enterprises, and allowing Participants collaborated across fields in just 3 days to propose solutions.

Participants formed 20 teams at the scene. Chen Guanhe, Master of Information Engineering Department of School of Information and Electrical Engineering, Liao Yingjia from Department of International Business and Trade of Business School, and Liu Shunyong from Department of Economics entered two teams respectively. Among them, Chen Guanhe and Liao Yingjia belonged The My Fit team used 3D measurement technology to measure the foot size of users. This greatly reduced the return rate of online purchases and was awarded the "Best Technical Practice Award", which is equivalent to the runner-up award. This design helped adidas to conceive a new business model, which immediately attracted the attention of the adidas product development department after the meeting, and the follow-up negotiation cooperation model was underway.

The Fairy Trail teammates of Shunyong Liu used machine learning and natural language processing technologies to assist the Nuremberg Exhibition Center in matching exhibitors and visitors, shortening the visit time and increasing the number of visitors.

All three students said that they were very happy to have the opportunity to participate in the competition abroad. Thank you for the support and subsidies of the School of Innovation and Energy, the School of Business, and the School of Information and Electrical Engineering. In addition, special thanks to Xue Nianlin, Director of the Department of Information Engineering, Liang Xinyu, Director of the Global Village Business Management Education and Industry-University Promotion Service Center of the Business School, and Jiang Yifang, Director of the AACSB International Certification and Business Management Education Innovation Office, for training and leading the team for guidance before the game. Students work with team members of different nationalities and different professional fields to expand their international outlook, and create more possibilities by solving problems with companies.
