The 2019 FIRA (Federation of International Robot-Sports Association) World Cup Smart Robot Sports Competition will be held at the International Convention and Exhibition Center in Changwon, South Korea from August 12 to 16, attracting nearly a thousand people from around the world. The joint representative team "FCU-CTSP" performed well in the "Human Robot Soccer Second Challenge" and won the runner-up.

The "Human Robot Soccer" game is in which the organizer specifies the kicking position, and then calculates the score based on various goals. The members of our school participating in the competition include Jiang Ruixiu, Deng Qimin, Zeng Honglin, Huang Zhengting, and He Rusheng from the Department of Automation. Under the guidance of teacher Guo Zhien from the Department of Automation, they competed with national players from Korea, Malaysia and Mexico. Finally won the second place.

Teacher Guo said that for his good results this time, in addition to the participation of the students, our school and the China Science Administration jointly organized a workshop before the competition to help students strengthen their knowledge of body structure, programming, image processing, robot posture adjustment, and wireless communication. The establishment of a robotics club to provide students with a variety of front-end robots and experiment space is also an important key to success.

Hong Sanshan, Dean of the School of Information and Electrical Engineering, said that this is the second year that Feng Chia University has participated in the competition. The ranking has jumped from fifth place last year to second place. The students are very excited. In addition, the "Intelligent Internet of Things Creation Base (AIoT)" planned by the School of Information and Electrical Engineering takes artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things as the main axis, and focuses on three bright spots: robots, intelligent identification systems, and sensing information. "The focus of the business is to allow students to improve their professional abilities in smart robots through learning by doing, and to cultivate more cross-disciplinary talents for the country.
